Mull Trip August 2006
Mull holiday report - 19th to 26th august 2006
From the 19th to 26th of August one member of Eastwood sub aqua club went to dive the west side of the isle of Mull. We stayed at Killiechronan self catering accommodation ( www.selfcatering-mull.com ) for the princely sum of £85 for the week per person.
We launched into the south side of Loch Na Keal from a beach near Derryguaig Farm. It is a beach launch and first you have to flatten out the ‘slipway’. With the digging done, we used it to great effect each day without charge.
We dived the Geasgill islands that always have a lot of scallops on them. This was followed by Little Colonsay, Bogha Ludden and with the weather being so good we went out to the Tresnish Islands and visited Fladda. After a night reading up about the GPS we used it to guide us to Mcquarrie’s rock. This is a Bofascadale type dive with a wall to 70M plus. With the weather being so good we never actually got to the pub! Of course there was always the sea food to cook.
The boating for the week of twelve dives came to £59 per person. We took our own food and there was little else to spend money on except air fills. It was a cheap week with spectacular diving. Why don’t you come next year?
